OUR VISION
“Fishing Today, Protecting Tomorrow”
At Wabasso School of Fish, Inc., we envision a future where every child has the opportunity to experience the joys of fishing, develop essential water safety skills, and grow into a dedicated steward of our local environment. Through hands-on education and conservation efforts, we aim to foster a deep, lifelong connection between youth and the natural world, empowering them to protect and preserve the Indian River Lagoon and surrounding ecosystems for generations to come.
We see a community where outdoor learning is accessible to all, regardless of socioeconomic background. By providing free fishing lessons and low-cost or donated gear, we remove barriers that might prevent children from engaging with nature. We believe that by immersing kids in these experiences, they will gain confidence, self-sufficiency, and a greater appreciation for our waterways and wildlife.
Our vision extends beyond education we strive to cultivate a culture of conservation and responsibility. Through hands-on environmental programs, lagoon cleanups, and sustainable fishing practices, we hope to inspire young people to take an active role in protecting Florida’s delicate coastal ecosystems. By equipping them with both knowledge and resources, we empower the next generation to ensure that the waters we cherish today remain healthy, vibrant, and teeming with life for years to come.
